The Sunday Salon

What was your week like?

Hot!

Seriously hot. So, I stay inside most of the time. Any errands or outside activities must be done in the early part of the morning. Using the clothes dryer must be used in the early part of the morning. Using the oven is off limits for now. I use the stove top or heat up leftovers in the microwave.

Granddaughter Celeste was discharged from the hospital the afternoon of July 4th. She is doing great. Recovering well.

On July 4th, I decided to clean up by dusting and vacuuming my reading room which is really supposed to be the formal dining room area. I ended up moving furniture around. I needed my reading chair to be away from the hot window. The room looks great, but my lower back and both hips and both knees are not good. I’m better, but not there yet.

The following pictures is my reading room.

I love owls, bees, tea pots, tea stuff, and books.

The round table with all the books is the to be read stack. The short stack of books to the left of the chair is current reads-including a Kindle Paperwhite.

  1. It’s been hot here, too. I try to cool off at our city pool as often as I can, but that’s our only relief.

I’m glad to hear that Celeste was able to go home.

What a lovely reading room. Now that our sons are grown, we’ve converted their old bedrooms into reading areas for each of us.

  2. Glad your grand daughter is better, but sorry to hear you injured yourself while sorting out your reading room. What a fun space! Love the blankies and stuffed animals. Making it cozy and homely.

I hope you will relax this week in you reading room and read the best books!
