What was my week like?
My husband and I finished up the kitchen island project. I’m so thankful for his hard work in this beautiful piece that sits proudly in our kitchen.
We used a discarded card catalog file that sits just underneath the butcher block.
I’m storing a collection of cast iron on the shelf. There are a few more pieces that I’m currently seasoning in the oven before storage.
Do you cook or bake with cast iron?
I’m currently reading:
- The Legend of Sigurd & Gudrun by J. R. R. Tolkien.
- The Gown by Jennifer Robson.
- Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
- Soul Friend by Kenneth Leech.

The butcher block is beautiful and unique! I don’t cook with cast iron, mostly because i wouldn’t know how! Have a great week!

What a lovely island! It is nearly the size of our whole kitchen!
I enjoyed Wuthering Heights when I read it. It wasn’t what I was expecting though!
Have a great week!

Wuthering Heights is not a great love story. It was not what I’d expected all those years ago either. It is still an interesting and great story.

It really isn’t. Yes, I am glad I read it. I prefer Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

I’ve always wanted to get an old card catalog, so I’m envious of your new kitchen piece, Annette. Beautiful and useful, too.
My favorite bread recipe uses a cast iron pot. So easy, and so delicious.
I’m not familiar with The Legend of Sigurd & Gudrun. I’ll have to see what I can find out about it.
